On Wednesday 21 May 2008 ten graduates will celebrate their achievements in completing the Certificate IV in Business (Governance).
The Registrar, Anthony Beven, will be present to personally congratulate and award all the graduates with their certificates.
The graduation acknowledges the effort individuals put into the governance workshop, the strength of the partnership between Indigenous corporations and ORIC, and the expertise of the trainers involved.
In undertaking the Certificate IV, participants demonstrate competencies through assessments, and written submissions building skills to assist in demonstrating good corporate governance.
During their journey, participants have travelled to Yungabarra, Townsville, Magnetic Island and Palm Island undertaking academic studies in planning, policy making, financial accountability, and use of the constitution to run their corporations more effectively
All graduates are from corporations registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006, have been sponsored by ORIC to undertake the course.
The graduation ceremony will be held Wednesday 21 May 2008, starting at 1 pm on the oval off Beach road.
