Indigenous organisations don’t have to be incorporated with ORIC. Depending on their circumstances, they can be registered with other agencies listed below.
Many Indigenous organisations are incorporated under the Northern Territory Associations Act 2003, and are listed on the Northern Territory Associations Registry. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) also maintains lists of corporations which have incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001.

Indigenous organisations might also be registered because of native title or land rights. Follow this link to search the National Native Title Tribunal registers. Some state governments have information on Indigenous organisations which are established because of land rights or for local government services.
